REDUCING CARBON FOOTPRINT WITH XCARB® STEEL

The use of low-impact materials reduces the carbon footprint by 62% in a project related to Renewable Energy Sources.

Since 2023, ArcelorMittal has been the official supplier of the XCarb® steel used to manufacture the SOLROOF integrated photovoltaic roof. XCarb® steel is linked to ArcelorMittal’s Global Steel Innovation Programme, which aims to achieve carbon-neutral steel by 2050. The initiatives included in XCarb® are aimed at reducing the carbon footprint.

XCarb® steel is produced from recycled materials using only renewable electricity in an electric arc furnace, making XCarb® steel stand out for its remarkably low CO2 emissions.
